Julie came in considering abortion, and she was anxious, and scared. After taking a pregnancy test, she shared that she is a mother of three, facing financial struggles, and while she has a job, she doesn’t enjoy it. She is also dealing with transportation issues. But the father of her unborn child knows she is pregnant and is willing to support her. Julie shared that she had an abortion four years ago. As we began discussing the emotional impact of her previous abortion, she became tearful. She struggled to think she might experience the same effects again.
We talked through the options available to her, including adoption and parenting, and prayed with her about her circumstances. Julie is coming back for an ultrasound, and we are praying that she will see her baby and choose life, despite her challenges.
We talk with women weekly who struggle after an abortion. It’s not the easy decision that culture paints it, with only relief afterwards, and a return to the life she had. That’s why we offer abortion recovery for women who recently aborted or made that decision decades ago. If that’s you or someone you love, please contact Caralynn at 336.629.9988 for a confidential conversation about abortion recovery classes.
