Reagan’s Story

Casey called our office to schedule an appointment for her sister, Reagan, who was 11 weeks pregnant. When Reagan found out she was pregnant, she was initially excited about the possibility of having this baby, however, she was not certain who the father was. Reagan had a paternity test done and a test to find out the gender. She found out that she was having a baby girl. Unfortunately, when she received the paternity test results everything changed. Reagan began to feel trapped and did not want to tie herself to this man forever, even though he wanted her to keep the baby. Reagan admitted that she has never been “for abortion” but also never thought she would find herself in this position. After talking with an options coach, and seeing her very active baby on the screen, she said she was glad she came in our office. Reagan stated that talking to us was really helpful to her and she felt very comfortable here. Reagan asked that we pray she does not make an “impulsive decision.” Later, after talking with her sister, I was told that Reagan did go the abortion clinic just to talk to them and see what they would tell her. Much to her surprise, the father of the baby showed up and they had a good talk. Reagan decided to have her baby. That’s the power of boyfriends and husbands- fathers make a huge impact on what a mother decides! And that’s why we are passionate about our fatherhood initiative – mature men mentoring to encourage dads-to-be to step into their role and be good fathers.
